The VPC is a national purchasing cooperative for Independent Vending Companies, and is incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. VPC's purpose is to negotiate contractual pricing agreements with manufacturers for vending related items through volume purchasing. Since our inception, the co-op has grown to over 400 members nationwide, with operations in all fifty states.
VPC was formed over fifteen years ago with six large operators in Western Pennsylvania, who were concerned that our largest competitors were receiving significantly larger rebates and discounts from suppliers. These competitors were then using their savings to effectively compete against us in the marketplace. Because their cost-of-goods were lower, they could pay more commissions and, therefore, obtain large vending accounts. It was evident that unless we began to purchase as a group, we could not thrive.
